Why We Do What We Do

Community Impact

This is more than a timeline—it’s the story of a community coming together to meet a growing need. Rooted in faith and compassion, Alabama Childhood Food Solutions continues its mission to ensure that no child goes hungry.

Thanks to our donors, partners, and dedicated volunteers, ACFS has become the largest food distribution center in the region. We’re rescuing food, reaching families in crisis, and standing in the gap to offer hope to those facing hunger across Alabama.

The Backpack Program

We work with 38 schools and Boys and Girls Clubs to provide food bags to 2,553 children each week who have limited access to weekend meals and snacks in their home.

A $24 a month donation sponsors one child for the school year. For just $288 a year, you are providing a child with nutritious food and snacks over the weekend when meals might not be sufficient. To give online, click the Donate button below. To learn more, contact ACFS at (256) 346-3490

Food Distribution Program

Our family distribution model provides 70+ pounds of nutritious food monthly to over 1,200 families. We source from two major food banks and numerous local store partnerships to buy and rescue food for individuals living in underserved areas.

Doorstep Transports

Each month, ACFS serves over 1,200 families in need. For 170 of them, health issues, lack of transportation, or limited operating hours make it difficult to reach our Sylacauga distribution center. That’s why we launched Doorstep Transports—a vital program that delivers food directly to their homes. With the help of churches, organizations, and volunteers, we provide these families with the support they need.

Want to get involved? Join us in bringing hope and nourishment right to their doorstep.

Satellite Distribution

We are expanding our distribution model to serve more communities across our footprint. With the help of local volunteers, we now provide monthly food boxes to families in need in Central Alabama at 1643 Airport Rd., Eastaboga, AL 36260 on the first and third Thursday of each month.

To schedule an appointment to receive food, call our Hotline at (938) 201-2129. Please leave your name and phone number, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
