Alabama Childhood Food Solutions
Where we’ve been and where we’re going
In 2011, Jim and Linda Jones returned from one of many international medical mission trips they had taken as nursing professionals. They had witnessed hunger across the globe, but this time, their eyes were opened to a deeper need—one much closer to home. Right here in Central Alabama, children were quietly
going without.
What began as an act of faith and compassion—distributing food from the back of their truck—quickly grew into something larger than they ever imagined. Alabama Childhood Food Solutions was born from a calling to serve, one meal at a time.
This is more than a timeline. It’s a story of neighbors helping neighbors, of community rising to meet the need, and of a mission that continues to grow. What follows is a look at key moments in our journey—a journey shaped by faith, compassion, and the unwavering belief that no child should go hungry.
